I have a Google News Alert for “Marthas Vineyard”, but it doesn’t return articles from the Gazette. Why?
The problem is with the apostrophe. Gazette Online articles are reproduced exactly as they appear in the printed version, in which we use a typesetter’s apostrophe. You must either enter the typesetter’s apostrophe (easily done by copying and pasting Martha’s Vineyard). For best results, you should remove the ’s and make your search term Martha Vineyard, as then Google will return all possible forms of the phrase.
