The date on the Buffalo nickel can always be found just to the left below the Iindian head. If you can not see the date, then it has been worn off from circulation. These are commonly known as “no date” buffalos. Often they are used in Jewelry and for making buttons. • Where can I find out about all overstrikes? I have a 1950 nickel which has a overstrike of 1951 on it.and it was found in a lot of coins that I bought from a fellow with $5.00’s worth of old coins in an old bag. He didn’t know that it was in there. Thanks if you can help me out..
