I have a binder full of Baseball cards, are they worth anything? Does their value increase with time?
Sellers set the price. Buyers set the value. Baseball cards are like any other collectible item… in that if the item is rare enough, and the market is there for it, you can get some value. As the cards get older, the circulated supply diminishes, and if the demand is still out there, then the value increases. If you’re interested in determining the value of your cards, purchase an issue of Beckett magazine, which will allow you to look up any card by cross referencing the player with the year / make of the card. (Note: if the player is not listed, then it is considered a common card, whose value is noted at the top of the section). The other thing to consider is the condition of the cards. If they are exactly the same as when they were minted (referred to as “mint” condition) then they will have their full value.
