I had a similar experience a few months ago. Aphids were all over the radishes I had let go to seed. Mind you I was busy doing a big domestic garden design and had forgotten about them so the plants weren’t well looked after. Anyway, I was having a cup of tea out in the garden one morning and I swear to you there must have been about 20 Ladybirds per square metre of this radish patch. It was a feeding frenzy. The were two species I could identify (and one I couldn’t); the Transverse and Varigated. I had never seen a Ladybird before in the backyard and within a week there was about 40-50. No sooner had they come and the aphids were gone (about 2 weeks). Now, without fail, I will see at least one Ladybird each day in my backyard…all they needed was a bit of encouragement. Now, if I had of seen the aphids and quickly got the spray I would have done four things 1. Killed the aphids. 2. Killed any insect that would have enjoyed eating the aphids. 3. Killed any insect not even remotely int
