Most wiper arms are retained by a spring clip. Some are equipped with a release tab at the center which should be depressed to release the arm. If no tab is provided, use a small prybar or a wiper arm removal tool such as J-8966 to depress the spring and release the arm. Remove the arm from the vehicle. Some late model vehicles (all 1993 and some earlier models) are equipped with a wiper arm that utilizes a small release hole at the base of the wiper arm. If equipped, insert a 1 / 8 in. drift pin into the tool access hole to release the locking device and allow the arm to be easily pulled from the transmission. If necessary, use a gentle rocking motion to remove the arm. To install: Except for late model vehicles equipped with the tool access hole, align the matchmarks and gently press the blade over the linkage and snap into position.
