I have a 6.2 Polini model – what can I do to improve performance?
The easiest performance mods include a race pipe (stock number varies by model), carbon fiber reeds (143.400.001), and a bigger carb jet. Together these mods should produce over 7 hp. If you have a water-cooled model, you could add the race-prepared 5-port cylinder (143.010.006) or add a 50cc big bore kit (143.004.006). The 50cc kits come without the racing crankshaft , but the crank can be purchased separately (143.080.002). Adding the 50cc kit alone to a 6.2 hp water-cooled motor will produce approximately 8 hp. This is one of the most cost-effective performance modifications. For even further gains on modified engines, replace the 14mm carb with a 17.5mm carb (stock number varies by model).
