A 50 meter water resistant watch is not suitable for swimming, but only for every day exposure to water, such as washing one’s hands, working in a garden or getting caught in the rain. It is NOT recommended that one goes swimming with such as watch as these types of watches do not have the proper seals and gaskets to prevent water from entering while the watch is fully submerged under water. If one wants a watch with which they can swim, it is recommended that they purchase a watch that is rated AT LEAST 200 meters and has a screw down crown and a screw down back case.
