I had an empty sac at 5 week scan?

I know from my experience, many women will come in to the ER with a pregnancy related complaint very early on, when we do a scan we aren’t able to see much if they are before the 7 or 8 week point in their pregnancy. The ER Doc almost always assumes that it’s a blighted ovum or that the pregnancy isn’t viable, but I know of many occasions that it was just too early to see much, and the women have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. Good luck to you, I’m glad you were finally able to see your little “sprout” and know that everything looks good.

Thanks for letting us know. I am getting my 5 week scan next week, so I know I will not be near as worried. Congratulations, and hope you have a happy, healthy 9 months!

Wow. I had a “miscarraige” several years ago. There was a little bleeding, but no cramping. I was only about 4 weeks along. At the hospita they told me that my sac was empty. I wonder if my baby could have been saved. I will definately keep this in mind for the future.
