I got stung by a honey bee and my foot is swollen and painful. When will it stop?
As bizarre as this may sound, it is always a good idea to rub in some honey on the wound, Manuka honey is best as it’s the best kind of ‘anti-venom’ for a honey bee’s own venom… However I don’t expect you to have some Manuke Honey in reach at the moment, so if you have germolene or any other anti-septic cream is the best you can do really. If anytime you get stung again try get the stinger out as quick as possible using a credit card type plastic card pushed up against the side of the stinger to eject it sideways as opposed to trying to pull it out as this will prevent more venom being pumped into your blood as you try to grip the shaft that has been left in your skin…
