I got a supplementary tax notice from the municipality saying that I owe additional taxes. Why?
Depending on the timing of when your property was assessed by the municipality, a supplementary tax notice may be sent to reflect the full value of your property once the house in complete rather than the partially completed structure that was first assessed. The municipality normally charges only from the time the assessment was done until the end of the year. For example, if you take possession of your home in June, and additional assessment is done in July, the supplementary tax notice will indicate that the additional charge covers the months of August to December. In the rare cases when you have been charged more than your share, please notify the Accounting Department of Landmark Homes.
