I got a new computer and I have a backup from my log on a zipdrive. How can I restore my backup in my VQLog?
Files are backed-up to the specified folder/disk into a sub-folder named with the date you made the back-up (“26Sep2002” for instance). There you will have several files, depending on your settings: • LOG.MDB: This file contains (by default) the QSOs, information on your DXCC status and squares, the QSL-queue, etc. • DIRECC.MDB: This file contains the addresses of the address-book • CONFIG.MDB: This file contains (by default) all you personal settings and customized data. • Other Log and Configuration files you could have created. The only thing you have to do is copy these files (from the most recent back-up) to the folder where you have VQLog installed in your hard-disk (by default it usually installs into “C:\Program files\VQLog 2……”), replacing the existing files. Important: If you had the backup files in a CD, they are very likely to be marked as “Read only”. With Windows Explorer you must edit the properties of the three files and make sure they DON’T have the “Read only” mar
