I get the message HDD BOOT FAILURE since I connected the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and the PC will not operate, why?

This message is usually caused when 2 IDE devices are connected to the Primary IDE controller using the Master setting. Turn the PC off and change the jumper to set the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive to operate as the SLAVE device.
