If the error message also includes a line that is looking for a Library with “dri” in it’s name (e.g.: Library=/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so), it means that you are trying to load the DRI library in your X server which is not compatible with Java 3D. You need to comment out the line: Load “dri” in your X server configuration file (xorg.conf or XF86Config).
