I Found an old Agfa Camera, what is it worth?
I found an agfa camera it says Agfa Ansco Major on it and has a lense that reads Viking, its in pretty good shape kind of has an Art Deco feel. I found it at a yard sale for a dollar. I think it has to be at least 1930’s, and it is NOT a Planex. Any idea what it is worth? An Agfa Ansco would be from 1928 or later, because that’s when the two companies (Ansco of New York and Agfa of Germany) merged. The bad news is that they usually don’t sell for very much, less than $50 in most cases. However if you want to get into film photography it wil still take great pictures and $1 is definitely a steal for any Working Camera. It’s a Medium Format Folding Camera, so you will need to get medium Format Film which can be pricey to develop but you’ll get great results and it’s a lot of fun. People are paying around $100 for those lomography medium format cameras which are just cheap plastic – I think real Vintage Cameras like the one you found at a bargain price are a much better way to get into me
