I found a wild animal, does Banavie Barns take them? What Should I do with it?!
Banavie Barns is not Licensed to take in Wild Animals. It is against Federal Law to have Wild Life in Captivity if you are Not Licensed to do so. Fines are given all the time for this, even when you are trying to help the animal. If you find what you believe to be a hurt squirrel, deer, raccoon, bird, turtle, rabbit or other such wild animal please proceed with caution. Our first tip is DO NOT TOUCH THE ANIMAL WITH YOU BARE HANDS. The second tip is to make sure it is really abandoned. Back off of it for a while and watch to see if the parents come back or come around. If after a period of time it is determined that it is truly abandoned or wounded, you can proceed. Wear Rubber or Gardening Gloves, If no gloves are available, use a plastic bag. Do not Use Clothes, Blankets or Towels that have yours cent on them and will leave the scent on the animal.
