I worked with Abbey for 2 years & they’re policy with charges may or may not be different but we were only able to reverse 1 charge every 12 months as a ‘customer care gesture’ we could reverse further charges if it was found to be an error on part of staff or systems. If Halifax’s policy is similar they should have reversed this charge due to it being the first time you have incurred charges that was through your own actions rather than theirs. What was the error that caused the charges? Sometimes something you consider an error on the companies part isn’t actually an error so if you can give me some details on what actually happened. From a customer point of view I can totally see where you are coming that you have been a customer for 15 years but from the banks point of view the account is your account to be managed they arn’t responsible for ensuring there are funds in every single one of their customers accounts to cover bills & payments that are going out.
