Windows machines generally do not have problems with running the DSPP programs. However, some Windows machines run automatic processes in the background (virus updaters, backup programs and so on). If the DSPP is running slowly or is choppy, another resource may be using the computer. Look in the START bar and the Task Manager for any programs that may be running. Many programs do an automatic update, or have schedules for scanning the computer (i.e. virus protection). This could be conflicting with the DSPP program. Another issue is the Windows Registry can get clogged with junk. Windows is not always very good at cleaning up the registry. There are commercial registry managers available all over the Internet. Also, see the above MAC tip about some modem scripts. This can affect some Windows machines as well.
