I downloaded the MAC version of a DSPP program, but it runs very slowly and is choppy. Whats wrong?

Most MACs (especially those running OSX) have no problems running the DSPP programs. However, older G4’s running System 9.x, may have difficulty running the DSPP programs at full speed if another program is running in the background or if a modem script is in use. If this is the case, shut off the modem script (what you normally use to get connected the Internet– this is different from your browser) and close all other applications while the DSPP program is running. Some Internet service providers require you to have your modem script running continuously. If that is the case, contact your provider to learn how to temporarily disable the modem script.
