To provide maximum versatility to end users, this drive uses a universal connector called Mini-Centronics rather than a standard USB 2.0 or Firewire connector like other drives. This connector also allows the Mobile DataVault 3DX to be used as a removable drive solution using Olixir’s 5.25 docking bay or desktop chassis plug in or eject the drive at a push of a button. Such a solution is ideal for rackmount configurations or use in enterprises in which frequent rotation of the drive is desirable. There is no degradation in transfer rate with this connector. High-speed chips within the cable provide high-speed signal conversion to the protocol cable of your choice. Tom’s Hardware Guide’s Benchmark Results confirms that the transfer rate of Olixir’s solution is better than most other drive solutions.
