I dont plan to teach in New York State after I graduate. Should I still apply for New York State certification?
Yes. It is much easier to add certification in other states once you have certification in New York State. The only exception to this would be if you are absolutely sure that you will be teaching in another state and you can identify that state before you graduate and apply for certification. In this case, you can apply directly to that state for your certificate once you know what their requirements are.
