I didnt realise rabbits can eat tomatoes, does it give them the runs?

Hello… nice to meet someone that asks first, and then goes ahead and feeds it! Some rabbits like them, none of mine ever have, but just so you know, all rabbits have sensitive digestive system. They are different than other mammals, as they have a cecum, which is full of bacteria, which digests their food for them…it is the thing that breaks the food the rabbit eats into nutrients used to grow and live! When you feed a bunny something new, it can overwhelm the bacteria in that special ‘gut” and when the bacteria gets imbalanced, can lead to problems with loose stool, or stomach ache, and in very bad cases, even kill the rabbit. You want to introduce any new food in little bits-no matter how much rabbit begs!-and remember also, that what is a diet food for us is probably very fattening for them (like carrots: they are the equivalent to bunny candy!) For more information about this and other bunny diet knowledge, please try choosing some articles out of this site:
