Using the “Save As” feature does not reformat the file. It creates a WMV file in an MOV (QuickTime) wrapper. While this may look and behave like an MOV file, the video and audio are still encoded as Windows Media. You can see this by loading the video in QuickTime and hitting CMD-I for Movie Inspector.
