I can play DivX (AVI) files during recording, why?

This is a know limitation of PVR. Even if it is not the same chipsets that do the 2 jobs, if this functionnality was enabled, you could have a lot of jerks during AVI playing (and probably on current record too). So it has been disabled and you can “only” read MPEG files or DVD.
