In the 196 set-up for TRACKS, there are three options listed under INTERVAL, “Resolution”, “Distance” and “Time”. On your GPS, it may be set to Resolution, which may be the default setting from the factory. If you set it to Distance or Time before recording you will be able to see the tracks in AirPlan. As for what each setting does, Time and Distance gives you a mark every .05 miles for distance and every 30 sec for the TIME setting. In the Interval mode, you get a mark every time you change direction, changing lanes or turning a corner. Interval would be the setting for a turn by turn track display and the most accurate display on your driving path.
