The NIGHT SCENE and NIGHT+PORTRAIT scenes are meant to take timed exposures of skylines and city streets by leaving the shutter open for several seconds. Therefore, it is necessary to stabilize the camera by bracing it against something solid or ideally by using a tripod or camera clamp.
