I can access my email! Why does my mailreader hang when trying to open my inbox?
In the vast majority of cases, this is due to a lock file being left behind from when you previously checked your email. One of the reasons for this if that your email client may have crashed while accessing email previously, although there can be many other reasons. The first thing you need to do is to completely close you email reader, in the case of Netscape (and possibly other clients) you will also need to close all of your browser windows so Netscape is no longer running at all.
