It’s not easy to find demi-glace anywhere and when you do you’ll see why: it can be incredibly expensive. The good news is that you can usually get bones from the butcher for pennies or even free and you can make your own demi-glace. Mail order resources like the Cooking Enthusiast might have what you’re looking for. Having said all of that, the answer to your question is no, there is no substitute.
