I cannot afford to sod my whole lawn. Can I seed the other half and ever have it look as good as the sodded half?

A. Sure, you can. It all started from seed. If you seed in early fall you will see results sooner. Jack Barber, my next-door neighbor, did it your way. He made only one mistake; he didn’t use the same variety and you can see the difference, though it doesn’t look bad. If you have the same problem as Jack, overseed lightly with the same variety seed in the fall; top dress the mixed grass with a light sprinkle of soil, blending the two into each other.
