I can not finish my assignment in time because of family or work commitments. Can I ask for an extension and how do I do that?
Both, your lecturer and you, have to agree to the new deadline. You then have to write a letter to the Director of Studies (EPSA) to ask for approval. Email this letter to admin@epsa.uq.edu.au for processing and send a copy to your lecturer and the Education Manager. Results must be submitted by a) for the 1st semester, on the first day after the second semester mid-semester recess; b) for the 2nd semester, on the first day of the first semester of the next year (General Award Rules for 2007 or Program Information Book 2005, page 526, section 1A.5.5). Don’t forget that any assignment needs to be marked before a result can be submitted by your lecturer, so you can only ask for an extension say to the week prior those dates in extreme circumstances. Talk to your lecturer first!
