I can connect to a WiFi access point with my PC (or other device) but my Archos doesn see it. Why?
For non-European users, you might think the Archos cannot connect as well as other WiFi devices you have. You are correct. This is because it was built to European WiFi specs which do not allow as powerful a radio as US WiFi specs. Perhaps with the next generation, both US and European spec devices will be produced but for now the Archos will never be as powerful as some US devices. For the FCC analysis of the Archos 5 (both the IMT and IT use the same approval), see Exhibits for FCC ID: SOV 7501.
