I came in to the ED by ambulance but when I was discharged they made my wife pick me up. Doesn’t Saint Agnes have its own ambulance service that can return patients back home?

No, Saint Agnes does not have its own ambulance service. Most hospitals do not. If you arrived by ambulance, you either arrived by a Fire Department Rescue ambulance, or by a private ambulance service that contracts with the institution from where you came. Neither of these services provide “return trips”. If you are discharged from the ED, you will have to have someone pick you up, or you may call a cab or take a bus. The ED does not provide tokens or money for these services.
