I called earlier to ask about tubers on my ornamental sweet potato plants and was told to save them to start plants for next year. How?

About 8 weeks before the average last frost date, (April 10), select firm tubers from the group you saved. Cut them in half lengthwise and lay the pieces cut-side-down in shallow, aluminum cake pans filled with moist peat moss. Lightly cover them with moist peat moss and wrap the works in a plastic bag. As soon as new shoots (slips), appear, remove the plastic wrapper and put the pan in a sunny window. Water as needed. After the last frost date has passed, cut each slip and plant it separately wherever it is to be grown.
