A. It is very important that you use the proper brush. Different type coats require different type brushes. If you are brushing only the top of the dog’s coat, you are most likely brushing over the top of the mats. Gently pull the hair up and brush under layers first. Dogs that have undercoat will need to have it blown out and then use what is called a rake to pull the excess hair out.
