A. Tropical hibiscus will not survive Ohio winters. Bring it in the house and give it a sunny window and you may be rewarded with color all winter. It’s a good idea to spray plants with an insecticidal soap (like one of the Safer brand products) before bringing it in, to get rid of unwanted eight-legged house guests. (As soon as the night temps are above 60 degrees, you can replant your hibiscus in the garden, but it’s really better to plant it up into a larger pot and leave it potted.
