I bought a plane last year while temporarily living outside British Columbia. Do I pay PST on the plane when I bring it back to British Columbia?
Yes. If you buy or lease a plane outside British Columbia and bring it into the province, you pay PST. You pay PST on the greater of the depreciated value or 50% of your original purchase price of the plane. You depreciate aircraft at 25% for each year or 2.0833% for each month, and pay at the tax rate in effect when you first use the plane in British Columbia.
