Provided your renewal application was lodged before your current licence expired, you may continue to work as a gaming industry employee with your current licence until the new licence is issued or your application is refused. If your employer, or potential employers, wishes to confirm the status of your licence, they should contact the Employee Licensing Unit on (03) 9651 3054 or at Emp.Licence@vcgr.vic.gov.au and quote your licence number. It is an offence for a venue operator to employ or use the services of a person to perform the prescribed duties of a gaming industry employee unless the person holds a current gaming industry employee’s licence. It is an offence for a bingo centre operator to employ or use the services of a person to perform the prescribed functions of a gaming industry employee unless the person holds a current gaming industry employee’s licence or is a volunteer who, within any 7 day period, is acting for only one holder of a minor gaming permit.
