Net pay involves complex calculations based on your earnings to date, however, as a general rule an approximate figure can be reached by subtracting 40% from your gross pay (if you are a higher tax payer) or 33% (if you are a lower tax payer). An additional 6% should be deducted if you are in one of the University’s pension schemes.
