I am wearing the birth control patch. I had unprotected sex after 42 hrs. Can I take the ECP and reduce the risk of getting pregnant?
Emergency Contraceptive Pills (ECP) are generally are taken to reduce the likelihood of becoming pregnant after an incident of unprotected sex, or if the regular method of birth control failed during sexual intercourse. If you are concerned about having unprotected sex, it is recommended you speak with your clinician; s/he can help you determine if ECP is right for you.
