Ubuntu systems may not be configured by default with all of the system libraries and utilities needed to run Intel compiler products. Missing Libraries and Utilities causes the product install to fail. The error message displayed during the install is: “Certain Ubuntu installations do not by default contain all of the components which may be needed to install or operate this product.” For Ubuntu versions 7 and later, to install the missing components build-essential and libstdc++5, you can run the following commands: sudo apt-get install build-essential sudo apt-get install libstdc++5For operation of some 32-bit products on 64-bit operating systems, the following additional Ubuntu packages ia32-libs and libc6-dev-i386 may be necessary: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs sudo apt-get install libc6-dev-i386Note: Consult the operating system documentation for more information on the Ubuntu programs used above. The apt-get program is used to get packages installed.
