I am using Nematodes for biological treatment of European Chafer grubs in my lawn. How much water does my lawn need to have success with the Nematodes?
Nematodes require moisture in the lawn for their mobility. Lawn watering is required before and after Nematode application. A good rule of thumb is your lawn should be as moist as a wrung out sponge. The amount of water required to achieve this will depend on your lawn, soil depth, and weather conditions. Generally, watering within the allowable days of the lawn sprinkling regulations is enough. Watering in the evening will also help to reduce moisture loss through evaporation. Lawn sprinkling permits are available to residents who are using Nematodes for European Chafer management and have lawns that are prone to drying out. Permits can be picked-up free of charge in the Client Services Centre on the 5th Floor, 507 West Broadway. Residents must show proof of Nematode purchase or application service.
