I am using a Microsoft Exchange server. Can I replace Microsoft Outlook with Mozilla Thunderbird?

You could use Mozilla Thunderbird for email but not for calendaring. The calendering Add-In does not support Microsoft Exchange servers. However replacing Microsoft Outlook is in most cases not necessary, the standard Microsoft Exchange User License (CAL) includes a Microsoft Outlook license. This is valid for Microsoft Exchange server 2003 and earlier.
