Sometimes the IR port on your handheld may lock up. This is a fairly common problem and is rectified by doing a soft reset on your device. You can test to see if your IR port is locked up by trying to beam an application to another handheld or by trying to send your business card to another handheld. If the other handheld doesn’t respond your IR port is probably locked.
