I am suffering with overbite condition , does it require an orthognathic surgery to correct it?

It’s kind of hard to be able to determine without seeing x-rays or photos of your condition. Is it an overbite or is it an overjet? These are two separate things. Also, is the overbite being caused by your teeth just being crooked or is it caused by a skeletal deformity? Also, you may not think you’re having trouble biting or chewing food, but this is because you have been living with this condition for so long. I didn’t think I had any trouble eating with my underbite – until I actually watched other people eat and I realized that people don’t bite their food at the corners of their mouths or have to pull their food apart with their teeth and tongue to eat. If your teeth are only crooked, then braces alone will work. If it’s a skeletal deformity, then you will need orthognathic surgery. I can’t answer how much it will cost in India to have this surgery done, but I know that here in the US, costs can run upwards of $20,000 for orthognathic surgery.
