Nursing is a great profession to enter into, and the job outlook is excellent. Currently there is a large shortage of nurse practitioners, due to the fact that so many medical students are going on to specialties rather than opting for becoming primary care physicians. Nurse practitioners see primary care patients and can diagnose and treat many ailments. They earn much more than other types of nurses, see their own patients, and are slightly less expensive for patients to see over a traditional doctor. You will need a Master’s degree in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
