Fee’s taken out of refund SHOULD result in paper check. The turbo tax website says that the IRS can’t and won’t direct deposit a rebate if you allowed your tax preparer to deduct their fees from your refund. Best to go ahead and expect a paper check and if you happen to get direct deposit then you can be surprised. But I wouldn’t count on DD.
