I am seeking to minimize the steps clinicians have to go through to program the pump. Can I set the default choice to PCA-IV, PCEA, or Subcutaneous only?
Yes. You can purchase PainSmart® IOD™’s, Curlin’s pain management system, or set any Curlin pump to operate as a PCA-IV, PCEA or Subcutaneous only (or any other single therapy) pump, or operate it in multi-therapy mode. When you turn the pump into a PainSmart® IOD™ pump, the menus related to the other therapies will not appear. If you use a 4000 CMS™ pump, your clinicians can use a PDA or PC to electronically program the pump. You can also purchase a Custom PCA pump and have it configured to your specific requirements (see PCA therapy).
