I am running win 98, is it true there are speed issues when installing Windows ME over 98. I heard like a 30% performance decrease?
There are no performance difference for installing Windows ME over and existing install of 98. If you do a clean install of ME all data on the hard drive is erased so when you boot there is nothing slowing you down at boot or while it’s running, so it may appear to run faster until you add your programs back on. Note: It is best to do a clean install because of the changes that are made in going from Windows 98 to ME.
