I am requesting a Leave of Absence. What are my options in regard to my PEEHIP coverage?
A As soon as your school system board approves your request, the insurance coordinator will send a notice to the PEEHIP office. If you wish to continue your coverage while on LOA, you may do so by paying the monthly premiums directly to the PEEHIP office. If you do not wish to keep the coverage while on LOA, you may re-enroll as a new employee the day you return to work, the first day of the month after you return to work, or October 1.
