I am regularly involved in education of medical staff and in preparing manuscripts for publication. Can I claim CPD points for these functions?
The answer to this question depends on your individual learning plan. Whatever activity results in improving your performance in your area of practice may be considered CPD. You can calculate the number of points based on the number of hours you spend preparing education material etc. If education is provided on areas of expertise and efforts in preparing material would not appear to have resulted in improved performance in your area of practice, this may not result in accumulation of CPD points.
