Hey, Z.! Spinal surgery “expert” BrokeDog here, (now you know what the “Broke” stands for)! As long as you go into it KNOWING that it is a 50/50 proposition of whether it will be successful or not, you should be fine. I was supposed to have one disc removed and 2 shaved, (a 2 and a half hour surgery, most times), BUT, they found total wreckage of my spine, once they got in there, and, 7 and a half hours and a coffee can full of screws, brackets, ands steel rods later, I came out in horrible shape! But, I knew going in that it COULD be bad. There was 2 broken vertebrae, 4 discs flat, and the surgeon said I should have been in a wheelchair for years! I HAD to have the surgery, because, I had started losing control of my bladder. I think the best policy to take is … if you can possibly live with it, DON’T let them cut! But, if the pain is too much to bear, you have to take a chance! I am 48, and all doctors have told me I have the body of an 80 year old man! Yeah, that SUCKS!
